Kalvola Local Heritage Society

In August on Sundays from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., Kalvola Local Heritage Society exhibits Kalvola Museum of Local Heritage.

The address is Iittalantie 284, 14500 Iittala.

The basic exhibition demonstrates diversely the history of Kalvola parish.

We show for example old domestic and agriculture items, church and school objects, wood sawing and mining.

Puuhunpuhallettu (”Blowed into Wood”) is a minor special exhibition in summer 2026.

It tells how designer Timo Sarpaneva got inspiration to new glass items.

The origin of many items was that hot glass mass was blowed into carbonized wooden models.

We also have an interesting collection of Finnish glass from the 19th century until the 21st century.
